Associate Degree in Lab Sciences

Objectives: This course is an introduction to non-straight bachelor of science degree in lab technology. The aim of this course is to train technicians in medical labs for doing routine tests under direct supervision of a pathologist. The graduates of this course are able to work in medical and health centers all around the country under a pathologist’s supervision.Capabilities:

The graduates of this course are able to:

- Do preliminary tests in medical and health centers’ laboratories under the supervision of the lab manager.

- Do routine biochemistry, microbiology, parasitology, hematology and serology tests under the supervision of a pathologist or clinical pathologist.

- Upgrade to non-straight bachelor of science in lab science after the termination of their higher diploma and passing the entrance exam

Objectives:This is one of the higher education courses after higher diploma in lab sciences. The aims of this course are:

- Training efficient and committed individuals in different levels of lab sciences and direct participation in doing the tests

- Compensating for the shortage of lab sciences technologists, common in recent years

- Improving the qualitative and quantitative level of medical labsCapabilities:

The graduates of this course are able to:

- Work in medical labs as a technologist of lab sciences, working with a pathologist (clinical or anatomical)

- Apply specific test techniques in biochemistry, microbiology, parasitology, serology and blood transmission under the supervision of a pathologist

- Solve technical problems faced by lab technicians

- Present postgraduate studies in basic lab sciences, approved by medical planning council

Objectives:This course is an introduction to higher education courses and its aim is to train required experts for diagnostic radiology departments.

The graduates of this course will be able to work in the country’s medical and health centers as co-workers of the specialists and do all the required servicesCapabilities:

The graduates of this course are able to:

- Perform different methods of radiography except fluoroscopy and injection of contrast media under the supervision of a specialist

- Inject contrast media under the supervision of a specialist in radiography

- Upgrade to bachelor degree after finishing their compulsory services, gaining sufficient experience and passing the entrance exam

Objectives:The aim of this course is to train experts for performing advanced and specialized techniques in radiography.

The graduates of this course will be able to work in different radiology departments of hospitals while being careful about all protection devices against radiation for themselves and patients.Capabilities:

The graduates of this course will be able to:

- Perform all different techniques of simple radiography

- Inject contrast media under the supervision of a physician

The graduates of two year supplementary course of bachelor degree will be able to:

- Perform specialized radiological work while cooperating with a specialist in radiography

- Do diagnostic and medical services in nuclear medicine radiotherapy departments under the supervision of a specialist

Current Research Practices:

- Screening minor thalassemia cases by OFT-test

- Surveying the effect of ferrolla-asafoetidi on leishmania parasite

- Surveying the rate of infection with HAV virus in children less than 15 years of age and using vitamins with mutual bonds, olive oil and cod liver oil for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases
