Majors and Degrees in Nursing Program

Baccalaureate Degree and Post – Basic Program in Nursing

Objectives:
The aim of the program is to train registered nurses to conduct efficient patient and client’s care in all nursing specialities.

Capabilities:

The graduates of these major will be capable of performing the following tasks:

1-Planning patient care based on nursing process, administering medication, and performing other therapeutic services aiming at health promotion.

2-Supervision and assessment of the nursing staff activities, diagnosis of client’s care problems and contribution to their solution on the basis of nursing process.

3-Coordinating nursing activities with respect to experiences and knowledge of the members of  nursing group.

4-Performing therapeutic rapport with emphasis on counseling of clients, patients and their families

5-Teaching health care essentials to clients, families, and health care personnel.

6-Providing nursing services to specific care units (I.C.U., C.C.U, dialysis unit and other specialties).

7-Conducting health education and cooperating with health-care team members in planning programs for disease prevention & health promotion.

8-Participating in organization and administration of health care systems and educational centers.

Master of Science in Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, Community and Mental Health Nursing with Speciality in Nursing Education
 

Objectives:

The aim of this program is to train expert  human resourses in the field of nursing in order to maintain and  improve science and compensate the shortage of experts in education and service.

Capabilities:

Graduate of this program will be able to:

Work in different fields of nursing practice , education , research & administration.

Do research using advanced methodologies.

Improve nursing knowledge through evidence – based practice.

Ph.D in Nursing

Objectives:  

The aim of this program is to train eligible candidates to be  capable of (a) functioning as a scientific resource in a special domain of nursing (b) doing research using advanced methologies, (c) applying the recent education  and research foundations in order to create innovations in the nursing science, research and practice, in response to the health needs of the society and  (d)  countineoulsy developing the overall knowledge of their selected specific domain.

Capabilites:

Ph.D graduate will be able to :

1-     Do advanced research (quantitative & qualitative) in response to community health needs .

2-     Develop nursing theories based on nursing  knowledge and apply and evaluate nursing theories.

3-     Do advanced research (quantitative & qualitative) to improve nursing education system.

4-     Do advanced research (quantitative & qualitative) to improve nursing adminstration system.

5-     Function as experts in education, adminstration and health care system.

Baccalaureate Degree and post Basic - program in midwifery:

Objectives:

The objective of this program is to train registered midwives to function as a midwife, and perform services so that they are capable of presenting extensive midwifery and  efficient health care services in order to maintain and promote the health of mothers and children .

Capabilities:

v     The graduates of this program will be able to perform the following tasks:

v     Offering extensive health education and midwifery services to the women in reproductive age groups in order to reduce maternal and infant morbidity , mortality rates.

v     Must be able to give the necessary supervision, care and advice to women during pregnancy, labour and post partum period, to conduct deliveries on her own responsibility and to care for the new born and Infant. This care Includes preventative measures,The detection of abnormal conditions in mother and child.

v     Providing teaching and counseling services to women and families regarding healthy puberty, marriage, pregnancy, family planning .

Master of Science in Midwifery: Maternal and Child Health and Midwifery Education

Objectives:

The aim of this program is to train expert scientific & practical human resources eligible to function in the field of midwifery education and service.

Capabilitis:

Gradute of this program will be able to:

Provide effective maternal – child care based on scientific knowledge and expertise in the health care system.

plan, coordinate and implement maternal child health and midwifery services and train the students in this field.

Associate Degree in Operationg Room

Obgectives:

This Program trains operating room technicians for hospitals, To be able to  assist surgeons in technical issues.

Capabilities:

The graduates of this major will be able to:

1-Provide technical help to surgeons in operating rooms

2-Prepare sterilized surgical instruments for all kinds of operations

3-Manage operating room activities

Associate degree in Medical Emergency

Objectives:

The aim of this program is to train students to be able to act as a technician  based on the defined tadks and duties concerning medical emergencis to: help tramatized patients, manage their care and  transfer them to health care centers when necessary.

Capabilities:

1-     Give primary care in all medical emergencies such as hemorrhage , burn & Poisoning.

2-     Give primary care to the specific groups of the society, such as : Neonates, children, pregnant women and aged , …

3-     Give primary care in specific circumstances and disasters such as: mines , sea, earthquaeke and flood.
